72 hour Trainreads Challenge

Hi all. I am actually only spending 4 hours on trains in the next 72, but I'm also committed to a lot of activity that's incompatible with updating a blog, so this may as well run the whole weekend. This is being posted approx 1pm Friday UK time, I'll post again approx 1pm Monday for a check-in.

To join in: set yourself a realistic goal or two, you could even try a crossover with fred_mouse's Something Borrowed challenge!

Future plans: next weekend I'm definitely going nowhere so no Trainreads Challenge. The weekend after is completely up in the air, I might be going many places or none and will find out a few days beforehand. 1-3 April should be something like normal, and hopefully I'll run a 48-hour challenge that weekend.

Goals:

• start my long-borrowed copy of An Unkindness of Ghosts
• finish the current Pern book (All The Weyrs of Pern)

I DNF'd An Unkindness of Ghosts (liked The Deep much better), I give you permission to do likewise and just return it if you need to!

I liked The Deep very much, but there's a reason my goals are usually "start a book" because I've learned to give myself permission to DNF pretty much anything.

(If my goal is "finish a book", I've either already read it, or have read enough of it that I'm confident I'll not hate it to the end)

Fair enough XD I'm the kind of person who needs external nudges like that so I have a tendency to provide them when I see an opportunity 🙃

I think we can do with more widespread understanding and permission to DNF things with no guilt!

I'm very curious about An Unkindness of Ghosts, but bounced off both times that I've tried to pick it up. Whoops.
