Lingering Challenge Wrap-Up
How did it go?
Did you finish something from days gone by?
Or did you get distracted by a new shiny?
Either way, I hope you're having a lovely new year!

Also worked on a book about cemeteries that I received for Xmas, and some freebie ebooks that I don't want to have lingering.
Happy New Year!

I concluded that I am in entirely the wrong headspace to read about a girl child dealing with the complexities of fighting for their place against a person in power, and put the Keladry quartet aside. Instead, I looked at the pile of books that I'd read a bit of and put aside for 'later' and read Far from the light of heaven by Tade Thompson. So, yes, a lingering book, but not the one I was planning. I can't say I enjoyed it, but I'm glad I've read it.

Thanks! And yeah, I'm finding myself less and less able to deal with reading about plucky younglings dealing with systematic discrimination/bigotry, regardless of context. Stories about plucky underdogs have their value, but I need my escapist fiction to be more escapist.
