November Group Read: 1st Weekly Check In Post

It's probably still Friday somewhere right? (No, no its really not).

Anyway the first week of the challenge has reached an end. Time to share with the class your triumphs and tribulations. Finish a book? Make a start on something that you've been meaning to get round to for ages? Or finally accept that that one book everyone recommended you is just not your thing and you're never going to get past the second chapter?

Good or bad, its time to spill the beans!

Read the Everything Guide to Getting Out of Debt, the Chicks with Sticks' Guide to Crochet, and Art Marketing 101, all out of my massive library-book pile.

What was the Chicks with Sticks' Guide to Crochet like? It sounds like it could be right up my street at the moment.

Here's how to make the different stitches, here's how to read a pattern, here's a bunch of patterns. Probably like any learn to crochet book.

Ah well! Sounds like you're making good progress with your library pile - hope next week goes equally well.

I'm pleased with my first week. I've managed to finish reading "Dear Fatty" by Dawn French, a fascinating autobiography and listening to "Agatha Raisin and Kissing Christmas Goodbye". So that means I'm one book and one audiobook down and at least one more of each to go.

I've started reading "Mao's Last Dancer" by Li Cunxin and have read the first five chapters and also reading "Halt's Peril" by John Flanagan and have read eight chapters in that. I'm thinking I'll start listening to the next audiobook on the journey to work on Monday, maybe the "Point Omega" by Don DeLillo.

Hope everyone else's week has gone well.

I've bought more books this week then I have in the previous 6 months. I've read them though?

I think I failed.
