Trainreads Challenge: 10-12 December
Dec. 10th, 2021 08:57 amHi all and welcome to the Trainreads Challenge, a semi-regular challenge inspired by my weekend usually including some long train journeys on which I would like to do some reading. Trainreads Challenges will be 24, 48 or 72 hours long, depending what my schedule is doing at the time.
This weekend I'm going to be on trains for 7-8 hours over a 48 hour period. I'm making this post at roughly 9am Friday my time (GMT) for goal-setting, and I'll make a check-in post at roughly 9am Sunday my time to see how we all get on.
Try to set yourself realistic goals given your schedule for the next 48 hours, and good luck!

Date: 2021-12-11 01:05 pm (UTC)My train reading is work day commute, so I was a bit confused by the dates -- reading the post makes more sense. My reading goals are to make progress on any/all of
Two of those I'm moving from reading in ebook to paper, having acquired paper, and hope the reading will go faster. The other is still in ebook and I'm being recalcitrant about picking it up.
Hope your train journeys go smoothly and your reading is enjoyable!

Date: 2021-12-11 02:47 pm (UTC)Finished Piranesi. Given the length of Clarke's previous work, I was kind of surprised by how short this was, and thus how close to the end I already was!

Date: 2021-12-12 03:45 am (UTC)I did! I think the theme of my reading this year has been unreliable narrators, and this finished it off nicely. I like that it was cautiously optimistic in ending, because there were so many other options that I would have found unsatisfying.

Date: 2021-12-12 03:46 am (UTC)Good luck with the other stuff, and getting to the end of the book. Be interested in hearing what you think of it -- I haven't read it since my uni days, and have zero memory of it.
