November Group Read: Round Up Post

I thought: I'll leave making a round up post until Friday, so people can sneak in a last few chapters if they want. And then promptly forgot to make the round-up post yesterday...Ooops?

Anyways! November has well and truly made an exit from our life, so its time to look back and report back on what we read this month. Did you get through everything you wanted this month? Or did you read something entirely different? Discover anything new or odd about your reading habits?

Did you saunter over your self-set target deadline or were you reading furiously right up to the final minute of the final day, just to finish one more book? Tell all, in the comments below...

That's great that you're on track to meet your target. Hope you enjoyed the twelve books.

Dense or long it is almost guaranteed to throw targets askance - part of my problem with my number 10 for the month was that it had about 600 pages long and I'm only 500 pages in to it - so not far to go to the end.

Yay for a success! It sounds like you're all set to meet your yearly goal. Did you enjoy the books you picked?

I made it through 12 books (my goal was 10) but three of the 12 were not on the predicted list. The 10th from the list is still on the go - I've got less than 100 pages to go on it. Overall, not a bad month reading wise, although looking at the ratings I gave the books finished there were four that got 3 and a half stars, 3 that got three stars and the remaining five were less than that, so a little disappointing from that respect.

It did help my TBR pile with three of the books read dating back to last year and three of them to 2014.

I could do with focussing my reading on the TBR pile like this more often and trying to resist acquiring books faster than I can get through them.

I need to be more disciplined about my acquisition - too tempted too often! But in the interest of continuing to tackle the TBR pile, I've made a list of 10 books for December all from the TBR pile and am aiming to get through five of them before reading whatever I feel like at the time - maybe if I can keep this up for a few months I'll at least clear some of the ones that have been hanging around forever.

Yay for a good reading month though I'm sorry the quality was a Little disappointing!

I know just what you mean about acquiring books! There was a book flea market on saturday and I came home with lots to add to the existing piles.

I've managed to hit my goal of five books. :) Reading things from my tbr-pile has been an rewarding experience and I'd like to continue to do so more often.

What I managed to complete:

Elizabeth Moon, Sheepfarmer's Daughter.
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 10
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 11
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 12
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 13
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 14
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 15
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 16
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 17
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 18
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 19
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 20
Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist Vol. 21

Almost finished:
Edmund Cooper, The Cloud Walker.
Mike Moscoe, They Also Serve.

Overall, I'm loving FMA and Moon, but the two unfinished ones (well, I did finish Moscoe, though a few days late for the challenge) are unfinished for a reason. I'm finding the blatant sexism a bit of a slog. :(
