Alright! Remembered to post! We're two weeks into the challenge, nearly half way through! Are we all forging ahead with our tasks, or are we stalling out and in need of some cheerleading?

*waves pompoms enthusiastically*

Check in below with your triumphs and tribulations. Celebrate the achievements big and small, whether you got through a whole book or merely made a start on a book that's been taunting you for ages.

Well done on finishing - hope you enjoyed it. I've Uprooted by Naomi Novik on my TBR pile somewhere so hope you enjoy Victory of Eagles.

I got through one of the books in my to-be-read pile! (Elizabeth Moon's Sheepfarmer's Daughter.)

Now I want to go and buy the sequels and read them, instead of continuing to work on the pile. *facepalm*

That does seem to be a distinct problem with tackling books, the imminent threat of 'need to get more like this one I've just finished and the others can just continue to wait'. Alongside this challenge (I actually started slightly ahead) I'm trying not to acquire any new books for 30 days (I'm terrible for being sucked into the charity shops so it's not like I'm spending a fortune buying them new and emerging with bags full of them! Heaven help us all when the local charity shops have 'sales' and it's buy 3 for 2 or whatever). I'm at 22 days and getting jittery!

I finished The Crowded Shadows by Celine Kiernan and The Riddle by Alison Croggon this week. I was somewhat disappointed by the first of those, I found it a lot more tedious than I expected having read the first in the series previously. The Riddle had a lot more going for it. I have the next of both series already on the TBR pile (in fact I have the next two in Alison Croggon's series) so I will continue with those at some point, but for the minute I'm now about a third of the way through Married to a Bedouin which is an autobiography by Marguerite van Geldermalsen, a third into Shon the Taken by Tanith Lee, whose books are hard to predict, I always seem to either absolutely love them or I hate them and also a third into A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness which I'm liking more than I expected to. I'm hoping to finish the first two of these this week and possibly one other shortish one. The Harkness is on my phone and I tend to read it on the bus and when I'm waiting for appointments and such, so I may well not finish that for a while yet.

That means I've read 4 so far out of my hoped for 10.... hmm not sure if I'm going to make it.

I didn't get as much reading done as I wanted. I'm only halfway through Tanya Huff's Blood Bank.

A shame when you don't get through as much as you want, but hopefully you're enjoying it even so.

It's fun! And I'm almost finished so I hope I'll manage to make my goal.
