On time this week!

We're two weeks into the challenge, half way through! Are we all forging ahead with our tasks, or are we stalling and in need of some cheerleading?

*waves pompoms enthusiastically*

Check in below with your triumphs and tribulations. Celebrate the achievements big and small, whether you got through a whole book or merely made a start on a book that's been taunting you for ages.

Well done for finishing up Life of Pi - was it worth the tremendous effort? Hope you enjoy Ladies of the Grand Tour. Good luck for the week ahead.

I think out of a sense of duty, I'll give it one more try before I give up for good and get rid of it!

This week I finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling and The Night Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko.

I'm now over halfway through Dead or Alive by Tom Clancy and The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge and almost a fifth of the way through Agent 6 by Tom Rob Smith, so I'm on target to make it through the 8 books I set myself for the month (I could have picked a few with fewer pages *eye roll* - so far most of this month's books have borne a little resemblance to doorstops!)

Let's see... I've now finished:

-Drunk Tank Pink, Adam Alter.
-The Court of Lightning, Amy Rae Durreson.
-Darwin: A Life in Poems, Ruth Padel.
-The Thirteenth Tale, Diane Setterfield.
-The Mighty Thor: The Galactus Seed, Matt Fraction.
-What Matters in Jane Austen?, John Mullan.
-Votan, John James.

I don't think I've started anything new. I'm working on Awakenings (Oliver Sacks), as it's due back at the library.

Great progress again!

How was the Thirteenth Tale? I'm fairly sure that's in one of my unread boxes.

I'm also interested in knowing what Matt Fraction's Thor was like - I'm hoping to tackle Hawkeye - LA Woman this week (if there's time!)

I liked it. It's very beholden to the Brontes, I think, and the twists didn't surprise me as much as they were supposed to, but I did enjoy it.

As for Thor -- I'm not the greatest Thor fan to begin with, so I might be a bad judge, but I wasn't enthused.

I'm rereading the Foreigner series, and just polished off the last bit of book five (after a couple weeks of toting it around in my lunchbox to read on my break, which means 10-15 minutes per day).

On to book six!
