How have you been getting on?

I‘ve finally finished my audiobook of Joy at Work and have started a new children‘s book by Chris Riddell.

Alas I've been sick pretty much all month and my concentration is mostly shot. I've read a few short ebooks from a mailing list but none of them have been terribly good. (Valentine's promotion - usually I end up finding one new author I like but this time around has been only disappointment.)

Making my way through The Idiot but not enjoying it nearly as much as I enjoyed Crime and Punishment in high school. Not a great start to the new year!

Steady progress

  • library books: I'm down to 4; I have a reasonable hope they'll all be done by the end of the month
  • storygraph reading goals - up by 4 books, down by ~500 pages. I don't expect the second to change much
  • read something acquired this year - technically yes, in that one of the books I got from a friend to read then rehome has been read; I actually want to specifically read something I'm intending to keep
  • Beowulf - nope, not a page
  • currently reading - is at 13! This is a definite win on the base goal, and if I finish all the library books that gets me under the stretch goal. However, it is possible that there are books not listed that I'm reading (one of the library book holds might not have been added yet).
  • I've found a book that might potentially be nominated for a Hugo, and started reading it (Prophet).

so, of nine goals, I've achieved one, and progressed multiples of the rest. I've been doing lots of reading, and I'm pretty happy where I'm at.
