Long weekend laze about
I have a four day weekend, the weather is turning colder, and I have very few commitments for four days. So, lazing about in bed, looking at my garden, and reading are my goal. Anyone else want in for a short term reading challenge?

I've picked five books: two that are 'in progress', two sequels I've been hanging out to read, and a recent acquisition of a highly recommended older book. Ideally I'll finish three (or more!).
In progress are Babel (RF Kuang) and Nona the Ninth (Tamsyn Muir), both of which I originally borrowed as ebooks via Libby, but now have physical copies so I have hopes that the reading will go better. I'm about 3/4 through Nona, not sure on Babel.
The sequels are House Perilous (Tansy Rayner Roberts) and Ocean's Echo (Everina Maxwell). The first is quite short and I read book one recently; the second I might need to pull out book one to flip through.
And the last one is Don't Bite the Sun (Tanith Lee) which is part one of a duology, but I don't know whether I have / can get book 2. Also quite short (the two short ones and the nearly finished on Nona is the reason I've picked five books).
Other than Babel, which is a loan for a friend, these are all relatively recent acquisitions, so are going to also tick boxes on my 'read the new books' goal for the year!

Ooh, be interested in hearing about that first one -- I'm always on the look out for shorter works.
