November Group Read: 3rd Weekly Check-In

Three quarters of the way through the month, and how are wee doing? Are we three quarters of the way through our respective piles or just three quarters of the way through the first book (just me on that last one then?!)? Are we making good progress or have we hit the wall?

I'm on disc 7 of 8 on the audiobook of "Adrian Mole - The Prostate Years". I've read to the end of chapter 13 out of 31 of "Mao's Last Dancer" and to the end of chapter 38 of 52 in "Halt's Peril". I'm hoping that I will at the very least finish 'Halt's Peril' before the end of the month, but with luck will either finish or almost so 'Mao's Last Dancer' as well.

I'm finding this challenge really helpful in terms of keeping me focussed on trying to get through books. At this point I'm setting aside reading time each day to make sure I get a few chapters read despite how busy I am. I'm quite keen to do something similar in the New Year - I've made a list of about seventy books that have been sitting on my shelf for too long and so I'm going to set myself the challenge of reading at least 25 of them next year (just over 2 a month which may not seem much but I'm hoping that it'll be achievable and will also allow me the chance to read new things that catch my attention or to accomplish this alongside other creative and equally time-consuming projects). Would anyone be interested in joining me?

I finally finished a book! (Hollywood Heroines by Helen Hanson) Not sure if I'll get through another book by the end of the month but still going to work on it!

Well done - more importantly though I hope you enjoyed it! How are the audiobooks going that you were thinking of finishing this month?

Yes! I did, it was an excellent book and made me want to track down all the films it talked about that I haven't seen and watch them.

I didn't get through all the audio short stories I'd planned to do by the end of November (though thanks to your comment reminding me I did actually remember to listen to some of them! :D) but I have finished them since. They were good too.
