Flying challenge

I'll be spending something like 28 hours over the next day sitting either in airports or on aeroplanes. Which means lots of reading in my future! I have one physical book that I picked up in an op shop as 'might be interesting, I'll be fine if I leave it behind', three ebooks on library loan through Libby, a handful of other ebooks on my device, and two basic books on Chinese to read. I have no idea how much reading I'm going to be doing, but I'd love to finish at least one book (which might be Casey McQuiston's One Last Stop, but I note that two of my other ebook loans now have other people waiting, so I might try and power through the one that is giving me the irrits, or start the other one) over that time!

Anyone else want to set a short term reading challenge?

I‘m in. I‘ll set my goal to 5 pages in any of my books in the pile that I‘ve started.

I want to read one of this month's SF magazines (alternating with other activities if needed to take breaks between the short stories). I have a fair bit of downtime this weekend so this should be entirely achievable.

For bonus points, I'd like to read at least one chapter of at least one of my three currently checked-out library books.

I have a slim but dense volume that I could knock out with a dedicated effort... or at least make serious progress!

I'm in, too. I am setting my goal to be: to start that personal finance book I bought months ago and read at least one chapter until 27 January. 📚

I would like to finish the anthology I have this weekend. It's not too long. But I'd like to decrease my TBR physical pile, which is increasingly too alarmingly since I usually only get ebooks.

Ooh, let me think. I'd like to finish Tropic of Serpents (Marie Brennan) and Everybody Lies (Seth Stephens-Davidowitz), at least, and perhaps make a start on The Soldier's Scoundrel (Cat Sebastian).
