Welcome to the return of Trainreads Challenge.

This weekend, if all goes to plan, I will be spending approximately 12 hours of the next 72 sitting on trains (and some buses). I'm trying to use that time for reading rather than less helpful habits, thus the challenge. To join in, post a realistic reading goal for the weekend in the comments, and I'll make a check-in post around 2pm Monday (UK time) to see how we've all done.

I‘ve heard of Atomic Habits, good to know the advice is useful. It‘s on my list of books I‘d like to check out of the library one day (if they have it, our library is pretty small).

Oh, I'm in! This comes at a good time for me because I have library books out that need to be read.

I want to finish The Bullet Journal Method. It's a re-read for me, and it reads pretty fast so I should have no problem finishing it (I'm about halfway through.) I might even finish it today.

The other book is Crash Override by Zoe Quinn. Apparently I recommended it to my library years ago and quite forgot about it, but they just purchased the ebook and I was first on the list to get it, so I'd like to read it. Aiming for at least 3 chapters this weekend.

Here via the [community profile] snowflake_challenge.

I want to finish The Cat Who Saved Books by Sosuke Natsukawa (about 40 pages left).

The title alone intrigues, best wishes on completion!

Thanks! By the way, since I‘m new here, is the comm also open to book review/rec posts or is it purely for setting reading challenges? Either way is fine with me, I just don‘t want to break any rules.

I want to get more than half-way into the short Shirley Jackson book I just checked out, We Have Always Lived in the Castle.

Good luck!

I'm planning to read Full Volume tomorrow if I don't start tonight. I finished a comic roughly the same length earlier today, and I'm nearly half again through a second. If I don't finish Love So Pure today, I'll also try to finish that this weekend. I also plan to finish Mo Dao Zu Shi vol 4, start Golden Terrace vol 1 (which showed up today), or continue Nan Chan.

Well, I've been a nostalgia-rereading kick lately, so after reading the two main Tarma & Kethry books I think I will try to knock out Oathblood and By the Sword this weekend to complete things!

Good luck! Btw, another question regarding your role as admin: are book rec posts okay in this comm? It seems the original goal of linking to book club posts has changed a little.

Sure, I would be fine with book recs. "I read this, and I think you should read it too!" can fit into the 'reading together' umbrella. :)

I hope you have very speedy train rides!

I'd like to finish my reread of Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo by Sunday (AEDT). I have 10% left and from memory, the remaining chapters are pretty short.

Fortuitous timing! I set myself some short term reading goals earlier today, so I'll make note of them here:

For the weekend

  • finish The Haunting of Hill House (done)
  • make progress on Legends and Lattes --or better yet finish. (Progressed)
  • make progress on Klara and the Sun

With stretch goal of 'finish the library book before it has to be returned on Friday'
