Happy Holidays! I know I'm a smidge early, but my area is receiving Weather this weekend and I'd rather have this posted than not. You are quite welcome to start now or wait til the weird days truly begin-
Since the year is nearly over, it's time to see what's lingering.
We all have that book. The one we'll get to later. The one that doesn't get chosen. The one that's well-intentioned. (It's been sitting there for a long time.)
While it doesn't have to be the absolute oldest thing on your TBR shelf, if you even know what is, this is the week to read* something that's been waiting for awhile.
I'll post again at the end of the year to see how it went for you~
*read/listen/watch/play. Whatever media you choose is fine.

Date: 2022-12-25 09:56 am (UTC)ooh, good thought. So, I started putting my books in LibraryThing in 2007; prior to that I don't remember if I had any level of catalogue, or if I just hoped I never bought a duplicate (to be fair, we had less than half the books we do now). I didn't have time to work out which ones I'd read, or put ratings in -- for lots of them I didn't even put useful tags! Which makes working it out Interesting.
But, for the purposes of this, I've just ordered my books by entry date, and I'm going to skim through for two or three that look interesting (and short) and go pull them off the shelf.
... first up are all my cookbooks, and then textbooks. Some graphic novels -- but I've read them all, although some not in 20 years. Craft books. Still not finding anything that sings out as being for now.
Found: Banjo Patterson: A Children's Treasury. I don't think I've read this one. If I remember correctly, it was a scholarship prize in 1984. I don't have many books from that far back that haven't been read. So, yes, I found one!

What I did find, was Window to Bushland, which I would have been given as a very small child (for Reasons, it has to have been before 1978), and which I've never read. Written in 1959, it is
adultmiddle school level non-fiction about Australian animals.
