It's the end of November! How did reading go this month?

And as a reminder, this community is open for anyone to run a group read of their choice. Over the last year we've spent a bunch of weekends reading, read on themes, read pictures, read books that have sat around for awhile, and lots more. So if you have an idea, do it! I'll probably do the same "read something that's been waiting a long time" challenge at the end of December, like last year.

(Also, two notes - I am not a mod, just a member. And I'm posting this a smidge early because work. Keep reading til tomorrow if you'd like!)

I finished "The Husband Material", a rom-com sequel that I ended up disliking just because the conflicts were so useless, I felt and unnecessary. And I read a kid's book "Dragonbreath 8: Nightmare of the Iguana" because my oldest daughter is reading the series and wanted me to read it as well. It is a really cute series of books.

Onto a sci-fi Hugo winning book "The City and the city" which is a weird murder mystery.

Oh was that Alexis Hall's book ("Husband Material")? I had mixed feelings after finishing "Boyfriend Material" and wasn't planning to pick up book 2 any time soon, and this sounds like some of my concerns based on book 1.

Yes, it's the sequel book. A lot of the plot felt so made up, like there didn't need to be a conflict at all. And while some things were OK, I ended up not liking it at all.

Yeah that was a big problem I had in book 1 for two of the subplots. That's disappointing. Guess I'm happy to avoid it. I'm sorry it was so unenjoyable :/

Thus far I've read 10 books in November and don't expect to read another before the month ends. Only finished 9 new completed fanfics this month (so far), but I'm planning to spend this evening/tomorrow trying to speedrun through a tag I've been working on for a bit, so hopefully that count will go up.

I've soundly loved all but 3 but of the books I read this month, and have 3-4 new favorites. So overall, an excellent month!
