The fourth and final part of the challenge set that I wanted to work through this year: a reading challenge for September on the theme of 'Something blue'. Possibly the most fun, but also the most challenging for me, not least because it is open to so many interpretations! Cover colour. Word in the title. Sky, surf, scenery in the distance. Depression. Singing. Traditional children's tales.
Looking forward to seeing how people interpret this one!
(edited, because the draft got published, which was missing some words)

Date: 2022-09-03 05:51 am (UTC)I may have to focus further on books with blue covers - blueish/turquoisey/slightly green but in the run of blue - that kind of thing - or if they've got pictures a fair amount of blue in the picture (e.g. lots of sky/sea...).
At the moment I'm in the middle of reading - all were started before so if they match with the challenge it's coincidence not planned:
Small Gods by Terry Pratchett (lots of blue on the cover coincidentally)
The Good Women of Chine by Xinran (no blue in title or cover, but there are some very sad stories in side)
Practice Makes Perfect by Penny Parkes (blue edging around the cover)
Crimea by Orlando Figes (blue not relevant)
