Pictures Challenge Revival

This is a challenge for all books with a focus on pictures. This includes comics, graphic novels, art books, picture books and anything else that fits this theme for you. Maybe cookbooks or a biography of a painter...whatever works for you!

Length of the challenge: 5 weeks. I'll post a check-in post every weekend.

I figured summer might be a good time to bring this challenge back. I'll browse my shelves and put together a pile of potentials.

Any of you interested in joining me?

I have a dozen manga series I've been meaning to finish so sure, why not XD I want to get up to date with at least "Yona of the Dawn" this year at long last, which is still like 10 or so novels. And I'm waiting for another manga that's releasing next month.

I am interested! I'm going to start next weekend though, because I have a few other things on my list this week. I think that aiming to read one item off the graphic novel shelf (poorly labelled, as there are memoirs and other non-fiction in there) per week is a good goal. I'll work on 'what catches my eye' I think!

Signal boosted to my journal, as I have several followers who are into magna/comics!

I'll probably reread Fullmetal Alchemist, as it's been a while since I last read it, and I don't think I've done so since I bought the issues I was missing.

I've been a bit behind on Jujutsu Kaisen and meaning to start over again to familiarize myself.

I have also been reading Kaiju No. 8, though I've been waiting for the physical volumes to ship (I believe I get a new one later this month).

I also am debating looking into scans for Umiba no Étranger (cw: homophobia both external and internal). The long and short of that one was someone recc'd the movie, but I was very disappointed in several aspects and am wondering if the manga did a better job or if it's really just Not Great. The movie really jumped all over the place (several timeskips) and didn't develop any of the relationships they showed us. I guess I'm just hoping that the source material is much fuller?

I could also pick up FMA again because I tend to reread it annually anyway, so why not?

Oooh, this would be a good excuse to reread Digger...

Or I could actually pick up the manga I borrowed from a friend and then 'haven't been in the mood for' for months. Hmmmmm...
