Something new challenge check-in
I was going to do this weekly, but I have no idea what happened to last weekend, so I'm now aiming to do a check at roughly 10 day intervals.
With that, what new reading have you done? Progress? Planning to read? Sitting down and reading with barely a break until you are done?
I have at least looked at my pile. I rediscovered that I had bought a set of 12 novellas, and I'm halfway through the first one.

I have been reading the first Witcher novel, a chapter at a time.

Congrats! I hear you on having to pick another one -- I got new books yesterday, and the one I picked to be 'this week's' reading is already finished :)

Shiny, and tempting, and oh, so good for appreciating :)

I did finish one of my new SF purchases, though! (Queen's Gambit by Dave Schroeder) I have the next one, too, so once my rereading break (Lord John and the Brotherhood of the Blade by Diana Gabaldon) is over, I'll get back on the New Stuff agenda with that one. :D

I have started The Raven King (Paperbook) and Athena's Child (ebook) as well as the new library loan, The Killings at Badger's Drift (audiobook).

Oh, wow, that is a lot. In this group project, you are the one carrying the team! :)

However, I "accidentally" bought a total of 8 new books. So my TBR pile is still two actual piles sitting next to my bed, one of them as high as the bed itself. Ooops. I have managed to establish a habit of reading on my train commute but I also need to a) establish of habit of reading at home more rather than spending 90% of my leisure time watching Youtube and b) stop buying so many new books while waiting for my train at the train station. Hehe.
I also need to list previously read books which I don't plan to re-read for sale online. So I can have fewer boxes of books sitting around near my couch and have more money to buy new books. >.>
P.S.: I really enjoyed this check-in. Reminds to me check and read DW and comment on here more often.

Good going on finishing the book!
And I hear you on 'accidental' book acquisition. I had to go online to buy one book (book 2 of the series I bought one of the Offspring for a birthday, where only books 1 and 3 were in stock anywhere), and then several things on my wishlist were either in stock or on special, and now I have several more books to read!
As for TBR piles, I, ah, don't care to guess how many books are on one of those.

Congrats on finishing your highest priority book, and staying focused on that goal! Hope you have a lovely vacation, and get plenty of relaxing and/or reading time.
