Trainreads Challenge: check in
Feb. 27th, 2022 03:43 pmHow did we all do?
Next weekend will be another 48-hour challenge Fri-Sun; the following two weekends I will "only" be travelling 4 hours in 24, Fri-Sat both times; after that my schedule is a bit uncertain.

Date: 2022-02-27 03:54 pm (UTC)I didn't do great: I did start my new copy of Uncanny Magazine but I ran up against the problem that I need to take breaks between short stories, so I didn't finish it yet. Maybe I still can before the end of tomorrow (and thus the month!).
I also managed to forget to pack my e-reader for the second set of 4 hours (), which meant I spent the time playing Pokémon instead. I won't say that was wasted, because I had fun with it, but it was not how I intended to spend the time.

Date: 2022-02-27 04:24 pm (UTC)I've read about 40 pages of my book, which is not as much as I'd hoped. I'm just not in the mood for reading literary fiction, I guess. I need something more escapist, I think (the re-listen of the whole Will Darling Adventures trilogy in audiobook is going swimmingly, instead, and that's very telling).

Date: 2022-02-28 01:36 pm (UTC)Oh I feel you. Although I don't always manage to put it on a shelf, so much as a pile - and then there's the ebooks which are so easy to buy and at least don't take up any space.

Date: 2022-03-01 01:56 pm (UTC)Reasonable progress. I didn't finish The Undercover Economist Fights Back over the weekend, but I did on the train ride home from work yesterday, so at least that is thematic! I started both The Grief Hole and Thirsty Mermaids -- had expected to finish the latter but it turned out to be one of those times when the visual storytelling format defeated me. And I worked out where I had been up to in Only a Monster, and read to the end of the chapter, so that meets 'progress anything already started'. I'm calling that 80%, and feel reasonably pleased with myself. If only for setting goals that were achievable!
