It's the end of November! How did reading go this month?

And as related query- since this community is here and currently only being used annually, would anyone be interested in smaller/differently-structured group reads during the rest of the year? (Not necessarily run by me, if anyone else is interested.)

It's important to enjoy what you're doing and hobbies are every bit as important as reading (unless there's a requirement for coursework and such like).

Finishing off books in a nice orderly manner fell off the trolley around the middle of the month (I can add Creatures Of Light And Darkness yes I know, lol and a couple of short rpgs to that lists though), partly because of the month going south and partly because I'm like that.

But I started and/or returned to great pile of them, so I'd say plenty of reading was nonetheless had ~

I'd totally be interested in smaller/shorter runs at other times -- less than a month would probably be easier for me to keep track of, really, given my scattershot multi-source reading habits, lol.

Would definitely be interested in smaller group reads, maybe themed ones?

My brain has been soup for over a year now, but finally starting to read a little here and there. Only a few comics and some RPG stuff, but I'm counting it hehe. Doing a Wheel of Time co-read as well - first book this month - so hopefully that'll keep me motivated :)

Thanks for running it! Reading did not go at all well for me this month, sadly, but that was me having an unexpectedly stressful month.

I would be interested in occasional weekend or week-long group reads, and probably willing to host them too as a way of giving myself some structure!

Sorry to hear the reading didn't go well this month and that you had a stressful month.

I finished another book, so I'll call this month a success.

I'd be up for some smaller group reads and would be willing to help host.

At final count I finished four books off the list and made headway on two more. Not great, but not bad either, considering I ran out of more steam with each consecutive week.

Count me in for future, shorter group reads, and potentially hosting as well.

I hit my goal of dealing with 10 books from my declared list - I managed 3 of the 4 non-fiction and finished 6 of the original 10 fiction and decided to abandon a further 2 - making 11 rather than 10, I am also part way through reading a further one (The Cranford Chronices - I finished 2 of the 3 stories but am struggling with the third). In addition, I managed to finish 5 short non-fictions, 1 fiction and have almost finished another non-fiction (full length - and I finished it today - 1 December). I'm pleased with my overall progress.

As for future challenges, something like a monthly challenge to read a book that meets a specific criteria (genre, character, setting, has a day of the week in the title - whatever) might be fun but also adaptable to fit in any time during the month and with individual reading tastes. Or an ongoing bingo - I saw one of those a couple of years ago with a different challenge for each square and people completed in their own time. A challenge similar to this at a different time of year might be good too (run up to gift-giving has meant I've got through quite a lot of audio books but less of the paper ones as I've been crocheting a lot over the last couple of months).

I've lost track of what the plan was, but I have read far more this month than I expected. According to Storygraph, I finished 13 books, which is about twice my usual monthly.

And I would be very interested in other reading 'challenges' through the year. I'm willing to host. I'd be interested in a brainstorming possibilities (as a post?) followed by a poll process, and am happy to do what might be useful to facilitate that. Including, in theory, running the whole process.

ETA: checking back, I wanted to read two books purchased this year, that wasn't part of either Hugos or Ditmars, and I managed one. Also two I've had for quite some time -- a middle grade graphic novel, and a novella.
