glinda: a pile of books with a tea cup on top of them and the word 'bibliotherapy' (bibliotherapy)
[personal profile] glinda posting in [community profile] readingtogether
So 2020 has been a year, many of us have lost all track of time, and reading has likely been something you’ve either buried yourself in or the sight of TBR pile makes you want to burst into tears. (I can do short stories or nonfiction, I’ve read a whole one novel this year and it was in audio book form.) Nonetheless ‘tis that time of year again, challenge season is upon us once more and filling our feeds with October art challenges, big bangs aplenty and Nano planning sessions. Which can only mean one thing here at [community profile] readingtogether  it’s time for the November Group Read!

Time to make a pile of the books that have been lurking unread on your shelves/under your bed/in a tottering pile/gathering digital dust on your e-reader (I got a tablet this year and I may never buy novellas in any other format again!) and commit to reading some of them during November.

As ever there will be weekly check-in posts with cheer-leading/commisserating as appropriate, and it will be super low pressure, you can sign up for 1 book or 10 books (I usually go for 4 but everyone’s mileage varies, especially this year), whatever you like!

Anyone up for it?

I'm cautiously interested! I definitely have enough books on my TBR shelf to find some for a challenge. :P

Count me in again, I can't see me managing Nano in November so at least this way I'll be doing something positive and productive. :)

This sounds like a good kick in the butt to read some of what's been lurking!

I don't often accumulate too~ much of a backlog, but this year I think I may have just the thing.

This is a great idea!

I've been reading, but it's....mostly nonfiction books about the Trump administration and oh my God I need to start reading books that make me not-depressed again.

I'm in! I was looking at the ebooks on the work iPad and thinking I really need to remember to read them, so this will go nicely with that.

I have a massive stack of books I've accumulated since the public libraries here closed down last spring, and I'd like to speed up my progress at reading them. This looks like an excellent excuse to do just that, so I'm in! I think I'll aim for finishing two books I'm stuck in the middle of, and reading three more on top of that!
