November Group Read: Check-in The Second

I didn't put off posting this yesterday because I wanted to finish reading a book that was due back at the library yesterday, nor having finished and returned said book, did I promptly forget to make this entry...nope, I would never do such a thing...

Anyway...We're half way through the month now and how are we getting on? Procrastinating wildly? Reading everything except what we intended to? Forging ahead and putting everyone else to shame? However you're getting on, tell all in the comments below!

This week I finished -
*Pack Animals
*The Valley of Horses
*Talon
*The Catcher in the Rye

All of these were on my original list. I’ve also finished an audio library book and the following which were from my to be read pile but not on this month’s list - Aliens Among Us 3, The Very First Damned Thing and Social Skills : Top 10 Things That Destroy Your Charisma and How to Avoid Them.

I’m now about 3/4 way through the long library loan that came in and from my list I’m reading The Girl With All the Gifts. On my phone I’ve got a short ebook about Genghis Khan, because I’ve finished all of the ebooks I’d put on the list for the month. I still have five more books to go on my list, so potentially I still might make it (but there are a couple of long ones on the list).

This week I mostly read Mona Lisa Overdrive by William Gibson, because it was due back to the library on Friday and I wasn't up for renewing it a sixth time... *embarassed*

I've also started reading Off the Map by Alastair Bonnett because apparently I needed some light non-fiction reading this week.

I did! It was Mona Lisa Overdrive and it was pretty interesting. I've always had a softspot for cyberpunk and a lot of classic sci-fi I've read is avery 60s view of the future so it was interesting to see a very 80s view of the future.

You're fairly getting through those books! How're you finding The Girl with all the Gifts? I loved the film, and hear good things about the book - I bounced off it myself, but I think that was just not being in the mood for it rather than the fault of the book.

Sounds like an interesting one - not one I'd heard of before, might have to keep a look out for it.

I'm approaching the halfway mark of the Girl with all the Gifts - it's going okay so far. I only half saw the film (as in it was on in the background while I was doing something else) but I've noticed a few discrepancies.

I'm halfway through the first of my books. I've read a couple of others, but nothing from my actual list of books I want to finish. However, I'm heading to where I may not have internet for a week, which means possibly reading time.
