I am reading Shannon Hale's Forest Born and feeling like a teenager falling in love with fantasy again.

I really like Advice from the Lights. The poems are full of raw feeling and confusion about life and identity. I also like the poems from very different PoV (eg: nautical ice sold to New York in early 20th century as a metaphor for self)

I still couldnā€˜t find my book (Before the Coffee Gets Cold), so I made some headway with Dorothy L.Sayers (The Five Red Herrings as an audiobook, and An Unnatural Death as digital print version). I find the former very hard to follow only via audio (I keep forgetting the names of the 6 suspects in the murder case, and there are complicated timelines for events that keep shifting). The latter is a joy to read (I listened to the audio version last week) because it contains such lovely paragraphs and funny moments that the BBC dramatisation left out.

I've been reading, I've been making small progress on my list. I'm not going to meet my optimistic goals (not least because I went to the library and came home with more books) but I'm at least tackling all the areas.
