We're half way through the month now and how are we getting on? Procrastinating wildly? Hiding desperately from the state of the world behind a pile of comfort reading? Reading everything except what we intended to? Forging ahead and putting everyone else to shame?!

Finished my second book for the Nonfiction November challenge: Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado Pérez. It made me very angry :B

My current read now is The Lotus Empire by Tasha Suri and I'm already having heart palpitations! There's so much tension and I'm SO NERVOUS about how the trilogy is going to end up. It's Sapphic Fantasy in case anyone is interested :D

Reading everything but what I'm supposed to is a good description; I'm currently chewing on a book about how people actually lived in Ice Age Europe, and "How To Write Fantasy Heroes" which is not exactly engaging material but hey, early xmas present so here I am --

Also going back over old FFVII strategy guides, because I'm going to replay FFVII proper for the first time in aeons.

I'm reading Celia Lake's Eclipse and Hope Zane's Fairytale and both are comforting me in different ways. Fairytale feels like reading k-pop fanfic, except it's original. And that's hitting the spot for me.

I read another chapter in "Help!"(Burkeman) which continues to be light fun and the occasional useful advice. I also started a new book. It‘s a fantranslation of Tian Ya Ke (Priest) and very enjoyable. I‘m at chapter 34 of 77. It‘s fun to compare how the adaptation differs from the novel.

I've read 3 books, which is one behind the necessary to meet the goal, but I'm making steady progress on multiple, so I'm happy with where I'm at. I also DNFed two, but unless I have to to get to my goal, I'm not counting those :)

That’s excellent progress, well done! And sometimes accepting that you’re not going to finish a book is as much of a victory as finishing the book, better that than struggling on miserably with a book that isn’t right for you.
