48 hour Trainreads Challenge

Hello all. I am going to spend 8 hours in the next 48 on trains, so it's time for another Trainreads Challenge, where I try to use the time to crack on with my TBR pile.

I'm making this post around 15:30 Friday UK time; I'll make a check-in post around 15:30 Sunday UK time. To join in, set yourself a realistic goal or two in the comments, and see you on the other side!

My goals:

• read the edition of Uncanny Magazine that just arrived, because if I can finish it, I will have read everything that I acquired this month (woo!)
• try starting one of the two books obtained last month I didn't yet read
• keep working through the ice hockey rulebook (boring, but necessary)

Still got The Jakarta Method going, we'll see how much progress I make!

My goal: read at least one third of my current Italian book (this).

I had a goal to read 4 books in February. I've completed two, am halfway through another and I'm going to attempt to breeze through a full book over the weekend. I might have to shuffle the deck and go for an easy read, lol.

At this point I want to

1. finish The undercover economist strikes back
2. make progress on anything else I've started (the pile beside the bed)
3. start Grief Hole
4. read Thirsty Mermaids

The first has about half an hour to go; I'll count 15 minutes on the second and third as sufficient, and as the last is a graphic novel I anticipate spending a pleasant Sunday arvo sitting on the verandah, once the sun is off, and knocking that one off. However, I will probably not do any housework :)
