glinda: just trying to read (books/reading)
[personal profile] glinda posting in [community profile] readingtogether
We've reached the end of week 3 here on the November Group Read. Flu, library books and tempting second hand book shops variously waylaid sundry of our participants last week. How have we done this week?

Are we starting to flag a bit or have we triumphs to share? Anyone defeat a book that's been taunting them for long and weary? Share your reading triumphs and disasters in the comments below.

I just posted about this (access locked), actually. I thought it'd inspire me to clear my backlog a bit, but I'm hopeless lately -- I just kick at constraints. Still, I finished one of the books from my list, and I've read over twenty that weren't for this challenge, so oh well. Seven of them were at least books that needed clearing off my to read list, and more of them were library books, so I'm not doing too badly.

I'm about a quarter of a way through a second book that I actually listed for the challenge, and a hundred pages into one or two others. Hopefully I'll at least get some productivity out of it!

(Still feel lousy after that flu. Evil disease.)

Argh, my book got left in the fridge and so I wasn't able to read last night, and won't be able to pick up till tomorrow night! However:

0. C.J. Cherryh, Destroyer.
1. C.J. Cherryh, Pretender.
2. C.J. Cherryh, Deliverer.

3. C.J. Cherryh, Conspirator. - roughly half done!
4. Amy Thompson, The Color of Distance.
5. Douglas Hulick, Among Thieves.
6. Alana Morland, Shackle and Sword.

Not sure I can make it through, but we'll see! I need to stop accidentally leaving my books places; it's really slowing me down!

My mother passed me a library book which she'd finished, and I'm really enjoying the first chapter, so my plan may be on hold for a bit, but I'll get back to it :)
